Best anchorage in Florida after leaving West End, Bahamas

We are Leaving West End Bahamas mid March, back to Florida and need to know what anchorages might be available for a night stop over? We’ll then head down to our Marina in Dania Beach (Ft. Lauderdale area) the following day.
Since we have a 65’ mast and 5 1/2’ draft, we need to avoid bridges if possible.....any suggestions?

The easirst, quickest route in into Lake Worth Inlet and drop the hook in the anchorege just to the south of the inlet. That course takes advantage of the Gulf stream for the last 3rd of the trip. Anything more southern than that and you are fighting the current. Bob

What Bob said. Great anchorage for a day or two. Pay close attention to the chart and your depth. There's a sizable shoal area south of Peanut Island. Great for my 3.5 foot depth as it wasn't crowded in that area, but I saw 4 foot depth coming out of there a month ago.

You can hug the east shore and have considerable depth in Lake Worth.

Peck Lake just south of the Saint Lucie Inlet might do the trick if you want to stay a bit north or tuck into Manatee Pocket in Port Salarno (bit more crowded).

I'll second Pecks Lake.

Why not just shoot to Lauderdale from West End? We do it all the time, leave before daybreak, lots of deep water coming out of West End, usually make the Channel at Lauderdale before 21:00 hrs. Lots of light there to enter, then run down to your marina. Those bridges run all night.Typically 15 hours.I stay well south of the rumb line, usually 3-5 nm for the first third of the trip then slowly drop down to it.
