Canada Day Sail

Managed to get a couple weeks off from work, so came down to my old girl and took her out for a couple over nighters. Becher bay for the first one, were we had excellent fresh Dungeness crab we caught ourselves and the second night to the sooke basin.

Nice. Mmmmm crabs...

For Canada day we sailed into Toronto's inner harbour to look at the tall ships from the free (water) side. Beautiful day with ~8 kt winds to take us there and back.

Sure, just grab a cheap trailerable micro-cruiser and come on up.

Psk125, no rain while we were on the water, but turned once we were off and now it is raining.

Lake effect, yeah my wife and kids had never had crab, so first time for them. Wife seemed to like it kids were scared of em lol

Glad to come across a another Sooke sailor. I was trying to get back to Sooke on Canada day, from the gulf islands, but the wind and current kept me at Oak Bay one day, and at Race Rocks the next! Looks much more calm in the basin where you were.

Glad to meet you mate (online at least haha), but I am no sailor and my boat is down there with my kid brother ^^ just got into this year really, my prior experience is realistically nil lol.

But nice to know we have more people there
