Cool New Member Houston Texas

Hello everyone,

My name is Capt.Kid and I'm new to sailing even though since I was a child I have always wanted to sail my own vessel. This year was my year , even though I'm 34 I decided to take the leap and take my ASA classes up to 104.

After my sailing classes I was hooked (of course), my wife and I then began the journey of sailing with our local sailing club and I much enjoyed it, but every time we sailed I felt that I really didn't the time that I wanted to be out on the water and wished that we could sail where we wanted and how we wanted. So naturally we started to look for our own boat. After months and months of daily reading and research ( there really wasn't much time that I wasn't reading or researching on the web since I work from home), we finally ended up with a vessel that checked all of our checkboxes. That vessel is the 2015 boat of the year Jeanneau Sun Odyssey 349 "Zephyr".

She was just comfortable enough for my wife (in size), simple enough to sail, roomy enough to bring on the family and sea worthy enough to eventually sail to the caribbean. We just closed on her this last week. My wife is taking her 101 classes and we are preparing ourselves to go through the "ropes" learning all we can about "Zephyr" and getting our bay experience before venturing out of galveston bay to the Gulf. I'm sure we have a long "fun" way to go but we are all excited.
