How are you getting along with the lift-keel? I am particularly interested in that aspect, as I am also looking at a Jeanneau so equipped. Please keep us posted on its' use and reliability?

I did not expect to buy the SunFizz at first. I was interested in something else. But the boat was so well maintained and had headroom for my height. The surveyor confirmed it was a good vessel. That was most important to me. More than the type of boat. Plus since I'm Swiss and must register the boat under my countries regulation, we had to get a Swiss certified surveyor. We fixed the issues needed and are now awaiting a final go from the surveyor to register the boat. One of the requirements was an ISO liferaft which I just purchased.

The lift keel was not something I was looking for, but since Galopin was as such, I looked up the advantages and they seem pretty positive. I have not sailed Galopin as of yet because of the registration and I'm taking classes for the Swiss maritime license which is as strict as the inspection. So I'm stuck at the harbor until I pass the exam in late April.

I'll be glad to recommend the surveyor and any other info I can offer. The French have lots of boat for sale and most are very well maintained. Plus the prices are good at the moment.

Hi Stefano. Thanks for the kind feedback on the video. The surveyor was great. So great that we still have to provide proof of work to make the boat conform to Swiss rules. The day long job cost us just under €1'000 plus 80 for the oil analysis.

There's a good chance I'll go to the Balearic Islands with a skipper friend to start accumulating my 1000M which are required. He's got a place and boat in Ibiza. Then probably the coast of Spain back to France. And on to Italy Corsica, Sardenia...and so on.
We'll see.
