Temporary outboard frame for 36ft ketch

Need to move my boat but engine no go. Thinking about using "2x4" s to cobble together a frame lashed to one side of the boat that could hold the outboard. Any ideas? Thanks, Roger

Seems to me a “hip tow” from an outboard powered dinghy would be the way to go. The frame concept can go wrong in a lot of ways. Even at its best, the frame would only be superior to a hip tow because of the drag from the bottom of the dinghy. That won’t be too much, and the dinghy would be a much better platform for the outboard than the frame; you could almost think of the dinghy as a ‘floating frame’ that you lash on. 2 people would make this job 100x easier. Good luck.

How far do you have to move it, and what conditions?
