International Purchase to Australia

Has anyone any advise regarding possible purchase of a 40'ish foot cruising boat, to bring to Australia?
Both Europe and US have vastly more choice and appealing prices.
Even calculating in the cost of import duties and expenses.
Clearly this is due to the shear numbers of boats available on offer.
What are the pitfalls and dangers?

I am sure that there are many out there who have considered this and perhaps even done this.

Old Topic done well to death I suspect, but for what it is worth:

Add 5% duty (in most cases)
Add 10% GST (in almost all cases)
Add conversion to 240 volt
Add Gas compliance
Add Quarantine treatment
Add Possible refrigerant change

Doesn't mean it isn't worthwhile, just not as cheap as it first looks. Rough rule of thumb at the moment, double it - i.e. 100K Us equals 200K Australian by the time you do exchange rate plus the items above, plus getting it here.
