Mantus anchor bridle w/mooring ball - Hardware?

Recently purchased and love a Mantus anchor bridle. Works great on my anchor chain - 120ft, so probably never get to the line part of the rode in the waters I normally anchor in - using their new M2 chain hook. I've heard tales of folks using the bridle for tying to a mooring ball too - if you do, what type of hardware do you use to connect the bridle to the mooring's thimble? Currently I just us two standard mooring lines (one from each (P&S) bow cleat) to form a V to the thimble.

Thanks in advance.

Mantus also sells a giant carbine hook for just that purpose - we sometimes use our mantus bridle a d when we do we use a dyneema soft shackle

Our books have gotten 5 star reviews on Amazon. Several readers have written "I never thought I would go on a circumnavigation, but when I read these books, I was right there in the cockpit with Vinni and Carsten"

Weavis,

I make my own - just buy some dyneema in various diameters and you have something to pass then time while lying at anchor.

Last year, Seaworthy Lass had a whole thread on the matter. I did make a couple following her directions. Cant remember the name of the thread but will go look at the site you recommended. Many thanks..

Came across this previous thread (not sure what 'key word' I didn't use before when searching) that points towards with staying with the simple two line through the eye system we currently use and forgo the idea of the carabiner.

PJ, that is the same conclusion I came to. The caribeaner looks like a hassle to me.

We use a mooring line from each bow. When it is time to go we drop one line first, retrieve and coil. Then drop the second with the boat ready to sail off the mooring. Simple, no chaos.

Mantus has a new mooring snap shackle just out.

https://www.mantusmarine.com/mooring-snap-shackle/

I myself tend to use soft shackles with a second unloaded backup line to the mooring.

Re: Mantus anchor bridle w/mooring ball - Hardware?

I have seen a boat drag a mooring into deep water. Have had to leave a few under very strong winds too. Whatever the solution: nice to be able to drop the mooring while under tension.

Re: Mantus anchor bridle w/mooring ball - Hardware?

In the French islands i saw several boats using big carabiners. I was interest after ruining good lines on shitty timbles loops etc . I usuall tied with long bowline knots but that did not stop the dammage . Also the french use big metal rings to attach to . This wichard product has a ring to place the boat hook in so it can be deployed and retrieved from deck . Works well except when super close to shore in swirling winds when it tangle with my bow sprit support lines . It twisted the ring a bit but did not release. Also spent a few nights in very strong winds in Dominica and it worked well.
