Anchor drag app for iPhone

Hi guys,
I've been looking for an app that will alert me (with long and loud sound if possible ) when the anchor drags. I can see some that look outdated... do you have some that you use and like?
Thanks, Emil

Re: Anchor drag app for iPhone

All alarms that I have tested generally work - the issue with me is the annoying fact that I need to set the alarm exactly when dropping the anchor wich do not happentex more then 50% of the time for didferent reasons ... hence AncAlarm is the only one with Late Set feature...

Drag Queen will not work with iOS 11. They need to update the app!!!

Thanks, v. You have incorporated some interesting features and they make perfect sense. I'm looking forward to trying it out on the water in a couple of weeks.

Tried your APP. Works fairly well.
It's not the only APP with a "late set" ability; Boat sentry and Vesper do this.

Two things that I think would make your APP better:

1/ Show position history. It's very helpful to see where the boat is swinging/moving.

2/ It seems strange to me that "Alarm Distance" is in the setting menu.
Need to set this in each new anchoring situation.
For a Late Set: it seems that this could be set automatically by adding a configured distance to the distance to anchor.
For a Position Set: it would be simpler if "Alarm Distance" could be set from (and displayed on) the main screen.

1. yep position history is good - thinking about it for some time to bring it back- the reason to remove it at first place was that there was too many dots on the screen in some point.... thinking about some better wey to represent it currently...

2. not clear - everytime I drop different chain wieght depending on the depth and expected weather...

if you mean to calculate automaticaly the point around which the boat swings.. already tried it do not work as most of the time the boat swings about some part of the chain to exactly around the anchor... and whne the real wind comes and you actually need teh alarm it is not correct

Regarding the Position History:

I hope you can add this. The Vesper Marine APP has it, but they seem to record every single point and try to draw them bogging things down. I just want to see a general picture.

Regarding setting the Alarm Distance":

I usually set the alarm just after backing down on the anchor and use the "Late Set" function. In this case, I think the "Alarm Distance" could be set automatically by adding a configurable distance to the Distance to Anchor.

Generally I think it would be good if you displayed the "Alarm Distance" on the main screen and allowed it to be easily adjusted from the main screen.
You would also need to re-label "Distance" to "Distance to Anchor" to make it clear.

Thanks guys, I'll give the apps a try. Although I can't find the Boat sentry on the appstore anymore, and it seems the Vesper needs additional hardware or I'm missing something?

Seems that Boat Sentry has not been updated for IOS11.

Yes, The Vesper APP only works with the Vesper AIS/GPS.
