Las Palmas - Moorings and Anchorages

We are still weather-bound in Póvoa de Varzim, but hoping to sail on Monday heading for Las Palmas and then on to the Caribbean. I realize that this will bring us into a harbor full of ARC participants, however we have been unable to fill our American reverse-thread propane tank here in Portugal and I understand that we will be able do so at the DISA plant in Las Palmas.

My question concerns anchoring and mooring availability. It appears the anchorage in Las Palmas between the two marinas has been closed, however Google Earth shows what appears to be a mooring field. Is this the case? Also, is there an anchorage nearby?

Thank in advance!

Re: Las Palmas - Moorings and Anchorages

Here now for the Arc++ so we have a marina berth, but have friends that came in not with the Arc. They were able to anchor between the marina. Port authorities came the next day to tell them there is a fee to anchor. I think they are pay €6-8/day with facility usage. We visited them last night for sundowner and it’s a bit crowded there but you should be able to find a spot.

That's great news Bob! Thank you so much!
