Hi I have bought a boat 40 metres that does 6 knots and need help to drive it back from Darwin in next few weeks to the east coast and need small crew and a driver to help as well paid and can anyone give me an idea when going straight east what places can I get fuel and get out of winds etc and what do the current do this time of year and wind from July and anyone interested to help on this trip

Approx distance to cairns is 1300nm, I am planning this trip myself but later in the year when the trades drop out for a short period of time. Stop in Gove and wait for the right weather window to cross the gulf but it depends on what timeframe you have a delivery captain I spoke to said to aim for wiepa up to thursday island and hug the coast at the tip. Fuel and supplies at all 3 of these spots. I have spoken to a few people about this trip and they all say never again.
