Anyone here ever carry 6.5' of draft into Staniel cay yacht club

With an approach from the west? Looking at explorer charts, seems like deepest route is 1.9 meters at MLW. Crossing at near high rising appears possible, but not much room to spare. Any of you ever do it? I've been there before twice, but drew 4.5 on that boat.

Been there done that with 5'3".
Don't remember any problems, but if in doubt, anchor out and wait for high tide.
Easy.

We draw 6 and have done it many times, follow Explorer track religiously, don't go at dead low, and watch for the Shoal near off the end of their first dock.

Re: Anyone here ever carry 6.5' of draft into Staniel cay yacht club

Friends of ours with a sister-ship to ours carried 6.5' draft into the club marina without difficulty at mid-tide save for the tidal current running parallel to the long dock at a good clip at the time. The dock-hand there at the time was no help so it was a little problematic for them. Beware of the rocky bar that begins about the mid-point of the long dock, roughly 60 yards off to the west, and runs in a south westerly direction for about 400 yards to a light on a small rock on its southwest end (that may or may not be working). There is a narrow anchorage between the bar and the shoal area on the west side of the island but it too is swept by pretty good tidal currents.

FWIW...

Plenty of water, but go in with good light, you can see the shoals.
Just a note: this is a dock with a LOT of surge when the tide changes,
Spent 3 days there last year and will never do it again.
Better off anchoring in Big Majors and dingy in.
Wonderful place good restaurants and laundry ect.
Just would not spend time at the dock, very uncomfortable, guess it depends on the time of year and prevailing winds etc.
A definite stop but will anchor this year.

NO GOOD in a west wind
