Seattle to San Francisco

Seeking one more crew on 39' sloop. Departure from Seattle is planned for August 15, which is of course weather dependent. Intention is to stay offshore and not harbor hop. Potential for crew to later proceed further south to Mexico. Offshore experience preferred.

Re: Seattle to San Francisco

Hi - No, we won't cover transportation costs. When I have crewed I always covered such things. Crew will also be asked to share the costs of food and diesel. The food costs will be minimal since we have a vast amount of stores from the house we are vacating. The diesel contribution is a way to have everyone aboard having an interest in how much we motor. Thanks for your reply.

Re: Seattle to San Francisco

I've crewed on a couple of coastal voyages, but each skipper/captain has their own method of enticing crew members to work for them. Just so I understand your proposal correctly: You are asking crew members to work for you for free, plus pay for provisions and fuel. Correct? The crew member supposedly is willing to do this because they desire to experience more sailing and stand watch with very little sleep!

Re: Seattle to San Francisco

Im wanting to buy my own inexpensive sailboat soonish and need sailing experience . I was thinking a crew work exchange would be the best way to achieve this as well as getting to be part of a really great sailing trip. How much would the expences be? Thnx kristen
