Singlehanding Bahamas to USVI

Have watched several boats leave for cruises of several days with fresh crew put together among strangers with really poor results. So, not terribly interested in bringing strangers aboard for a week or more.
Most cruisers are at least a couple, not possible in my case. So, thoughts from experience (please, not theories or opinions) on single handing the I65 route from the outside of the Bahamas to the USVI.....? Has anyone done it and what was it like? Traffic? Sleeping issues? Time enroute? Weather you got from where? Chris Parker?
Would sure appreciate some real experience on this.
Would love to have friends but they are all on West Coast and flying them out to sit and wait for a weather window just doesn't work for us.
Thanks!

Re: Singlehanding Bahamas to USVI

We wanted to go direct, but we would had to go pretty far northeast to get enough easting. We went from Great Inagua to Puerto Plata DR, then PR south shore with stops at Ponce and Salinas before heading to St. Thomas. Puerto Plata was a great place to stock up on produce and checking in at Ocean World marina was so very simple.

Cheers, RickG
