1981 51' Formosa center cockpit sailboat
Good:
Ford Lehman 120hp diesel in great condition. New belt, hoses, fuel lines and heat exchanger(remaining exchangers cleaned)
Transmission in good condition operating as it should.
Vetus bow thruster.
The two hydraulic steering rams were rebuilt.
New prop shaft and Cutlass bearing.
6- 6V golf cart batteries in good condition. 1-12V starting battery in good condition.
2- Raritan Skipper toilets with several full rebuild kits included but not installed. There is a composting toilet if the aft head.
Custom aluminum hardtop.
Both mast were pulled in 2017. At that time they were stripped, inspected, painted and had new led anchor and steaming lights installed.
All new Halyards as well as Dyneema topping lifts and Triatic stay were put on in 2017.
Nice Atkins and Hoyle dinghy davits on the stern.
She carries 400 gallons of fresh water in stainless tanks and 100 gallons of diesel in an aluminum tank.
Inside there are Corian counter tops throughout.
A fully rebuilt propane stove with a new solenoid and hoses(solenoid and hoses not installed)
V berth with 2 upper bunks and lower full bed. Separate fwd head and separate shower.
Large salon with carved teak pocket doors to separate from V berth, head and shower.
80 quart 12V/120V fridge and 85 quart 12V/120V freezer these are Dometic coolers in great condition.
Aft cabin has a King size bed(new foam mattress) with a aft head and walk in shower.
Tons of storage.
New sails(some staining but can be cleaned)
Blue seas AC/DC panels with new wiring throughout.
Walk in engine room with great access for maintenance and battery bank.
All the teak in the cockpit was removed. All the screw holes filled and glassed over with West systems epoxy then new teak epoxied in place.
All the teak around the top edge of the entire house was removed and holes filled then glassed over.

The bad:
The 3 original hatches have minor leaks.
All of the cabin windows were replaced with Lexan that has a UV coating. There was an additional UV film added that is failing. It can be removed revealing windows in good shape.
The transom windows are bronze and awesome but the Lexan needs to be replaced(piece included)
The triatic stay is connected to the Mizzen mast but has not been connected to the main.
The lugs on the bottom of the main sail do not match the boom These are easy to change out.
Manual windlass not installed.
Portable A/C's work fine but not everybody's cup of tea.

The ugly:
No holding tank. (no smell either) the hoses and Y valves are there so a new system would be easy to install.
Starboard side deck is soft. There is a 3/4" ply core here in a raised section with a solid gutter down the side. The raised portion needs the top peeled, clean the core out and replace.
There is no mainsheet traveler. The boat has not been under sail in many years and needs to be rigged to do so.
The hull and deck are cosmetically challenged. They need to be painted.
We lived aboard for 9 years and enjoyed it greatly. We moved off for health reasons. If not for that we would still be there. The boat needs some TLC and someone to take her sailing. If you research Formosa be sure and find a owner or someone who has cruised on one. They are very comfortable boats that are capable of going just about anywhere you want to take it.
There are no electronics. I chose to use portable A/C's, composting toilet and the coolers for a reason but I realize everyone has there own ideas. The boat does need some work but important work has been done and the boat can move now and sail shortly with a knowledgeable owner.
We have priced the boat very fairly at 60k and unlike a lot of boats on this one you can increase the value with your investment of money and sweat equity. The least expensive one on Yachtworld is 120K and the most expensive 212K As you can see we have priced the boat to sell quickly as it sits.

The boat is in Orange beach Alabama and can be seen by appointment. Truck, car, land, tractor etc.
