400: Mast organizer stainless steel angles Lagoon

Hi there,

on the bottom of the mast on the Lagoon 400 there is a halyard organizer containing of A2x70 M8x25 allen key stainless steel screws, an angle of I guess 4 or 5mm thick 30x40mm 30° connected to a Harken 75 block via a 35x50 SS shackle.

Does somebody know how this angle is called and where it can be sourced?

I would like to add one more block for a down-hauler line for the main to get it down and secured from the helm without the need to climb on the saloon roof, but cannot find this stupid part anywhere in marine catalogues.

Btw, what Harken series is this? In the current catalog there are no such blocks.

The angles look custom made. I haven't seen anything commercially that looks like that. If Lagoon doesn't carry them. Then a local machine shop that does SS parts would be your next choice. Take in one of the others as a sample.
If that be the case get it made of 316L material. You'll be glad in the long run. The Allen cap bolts you can find online easily. You just need to know the length.

The bolts and nuts I have already, I just need the angle. I can make one myself when buying a peace of SS for backing plates etc, but I thought this may be standard parts. For my application the load will be minimal, so no problem to make one, but the other stuff needs to be strong regarding all the halyards running through. I have not found an original block yet, so I will go with a Harken Carbo 75, they look similar, but they handle only 550kg working load - the original may be much stronger. I am just curious about the specs of them.

Personally, I don't like Harken. I've broken a couple already from getting knocked around. Schaefer is my favorite.
The load on a block normally exceeds the maxium standard line size that runs thru it. IAWS the line should brake first.

One more thing. If you make the angles yourself, be sure to give the bend the same radius as the others. SS will crack if bent to sharp, per thickness. And only bend once. A reverse bend also will crack. Avoid getting it hot.

Drilling by hand will be a bitch. Again avoid getting it hot. SS has to be worked cold or it work-hardens.

When I added a downhaul to my 400 mast, I just installed a eyebolt instead of the angle bracket, since I couldn't source the bracket. Attached the block to the eyebolt with a shackle and it worked just fine.

Finally I made one myself out of a 5mm stainless steel sheet.
