Hi,
The weight gets mounted as low as possible in/on the wand, with the float just above it. And the line/cordage can be attached to the bottom of the wand, just above the float, or to both spots via a
bridle. And the main mooring line gets connected to the float's
bridle line, so that when you
lift the wand, along come your lines.

In principle they're much like an
MOB pole, where the weight down low keeps the pole vertical, & the float of course keeps everything afloat.
