South African Regisration while on RTW cruise

Not the most interesting topic, sorry. As a SA citizen I am trying to decide on a SA registration or maybe one of the off-shore flags. The local SA rules regarding annual surveys are getting quite onerous and not practical for cruising. Are there any cruisers from SA that have an SA registration that can comment if they would do it differently next time. Also, we did not want to register off shore then have drama checking out of SA. Any comments would be help full. Thanks very much.
