Hi Everyone
We have just completed our maiden
passage on our
Lagoon 440 SV Shenanigans from
Fort Lauderdale to Cartegna in
Colombia. The 1250 NM trip was 8 1/2 days with 90% of the
wind 20 knots and over with a sustained 48 hour period of regular 35 to 42 knots and gusts up to 47 knots. Although the above conditions obviously proved uncomfortable, it demonstrates a robust
boat that is very safe and sailed great - a terrific
offshore vessel.
We are currently at a marina doing various jobs on her until March 4, when we'll be going straight to either Shelter Bay or Portobello in
Panama to prepare for a
canal crossing at about the end of March. We will then be venturing shortly thereafter across the
Pacific Ocean to the
Marquesas Islands. We anticipate this journey of about 3800 miles to take between 26 and 32 days, depending on conditions.
We're looking for experienced crew ONLY to join us from either
Colombia or
Panama onwards. We already have four confirmed, so we're looking for another two people, (a couple would be ideal so that they may share a cabin).
The
boat is a 4
cabin, 3
head version, so including the two of us, we would like 6 people to enable an easy watchkeeping schedule so that everyone gets plenty of rest and we can all enjoy the trip! We're prepared to cover all
provisioning costs for the entire boat during the trip.
Please only experienced crew answer. We appreciate that there many individuals who have very limited or little
offshore experience and may be looking to enhance their resumes, but these are not the preferred applicants for us, as this is a major trip. Those who are good mechanically or with
electronics would also be a great asset too.
