Re: 33' Morgan Out Island (warrior)

The fog lifted and there was sunshine and clear blue sky.

Sorry about the thread drift. Hopefully, there's a trade off in bump-value.

Back to our regularly scheduled boat lust...That shore is a purty sailboat, sir.

Glad ya got the vision man... (I attached a pic of a J for clarity)

Oh for sure I don't mind the hijack ! The new "hijack" emoticon is cool... but cooler woulda been... "thread pirate!" Not one boat inquiry, and this thread is bumpin' along like a Danforth on hard pan...

Let me list your boat for sale somewhere south and sunny... That way we sail two boats there and one back???

That picture is almost exactly what I installed - a turnbuckle is essential to make the proper tension adjustment.

What a clean super setup huh?
Turnbuckle... Threaded rod link...
I think it's imperative to be able to adjust the tension...

I'll bet yours turned out great!

Re: 33' Morgan Out Island (warrior)

Heh, in 2004 my first boat was going to be 1979 Morgan 33 OI but I chickened out at the last moment thinking it was too big for a newbie plus was told by the surveyor that it was somewhat underpowered with an old 23HP MD11. But the price was right as we negotiated it to $12.5K down from $18K asking price as it had too many as the syurveyor called them "home depot" non-marine upgrades which needed to be addressed. Ended up with a 27' and 5 years later went for a 36footer as the 27 was just too small for my needs. Had I purchased that Morgan 33 I would probably still have it. Very solid boat and although not a race winner can be trusted in all kinds of conditions.

Yours is a beauty.

Re: 33' Morgan Out Island (warrior)

Sir,
I am looking for a boat.
"A Veteran of the Marine Corps and Coast Guard I am a single guy, recently retired looking for a small sailboat to live aboard and learn to sail. The ideal boat is 30-35'. I need the hull to be sound and livable from the start but I am a quick learner, quite handy and can fix almost anything myself. I hope to find a boat in a slip that is transferable. I prefer a boat that needs repair so I can become familiar with the systems. Location is not a big deal. I have $9,000 cash and I am open to owner terms."
Let me know if you would like to discuss it.
Thank you,
Dean Frank
