Cruise in Fiji as Capt and Cook get paid $4,000/mo

Our 65' Catamaran is in Fiji where we spent the last 6 months transporting volunteer doctors and nurses to the islands in the Lau group of Fiji for the non-profit organization called Sea Mercy.

We need someone to take over for us from April 2015 until November 2015. You would be compensated for your work but this is not a get rich job. This is cruising with a purpose as you will be helping the people in the remote islands. The combined compensation is up to $4000 per month and dependent upon the activity. The on board food and operational costs such as fuel, propane are covered. For more details about the program see www.seamercy.org.

Strong navigational, sailing and mechanical skills are required since you will be sailing in remote islands where the charts aren't good and there are no repair facilities. Demonstrated self-sufficiency is necessary.

This is also not full service charter work. The volunteers who will be on board will also be willing to help out with cooking, cleaning and sailing. However, you will be responsible for long and short term provisioning.

If interested reply with an email address and we will send you more details.

Re: Cruise in Fiji as Capt and Cook get paid $4,000/mo

Hello ,
My name is Stefan Mens, i am from Amsterdam Holland i am very much interested to fill in as a captain in Fiji . I am very enthousiast about the Sea Mercey program. I think I can be the right person that you are looking for for various reasons. In short : I am a enthousiast ocean sailor , own my own sailing vessel , have sailed all my life , i worked at sea for 15 years as a first mate on mechantships and in the offshore, i am educated as a shipbuilding engineer, the last ten years i run my own business as a carpenter and furniture designer. Over all , i am theoretical well educated, have great manual skills that I can use to solve any problem that can occur in remote aereas . I am very good with diesel engines and ship-equipment in general .

To get a clear picture of this all, I guess you will need more detailled information. If you are interested, I will be more than happy to send you my curriculum and further info.
Hope to hear from you soon,
kind regards ,
Stefan Mens

Re: Cruise in Fiji as Capt and Cook get paid $4,000/mo

Hello Again,
I have read the pdf documents that you sent me. I can’tbreak away just yet for a full tour. I may be able to do that in 2015. I aminterested in and could make the time to help you make a significant offshore passage.
In my last post I did not mention that I have been doing humanitarianwork for the last eight years. I operate a charity named Watercorps we provide bulkdrinking water to the homeless people of Skid Row Los Angeles. I have a lot of experience in thehumanitarian water delivery field. I am interested in all aspects of relief anddevelopment water. I have been thinking and planning various disaster reliefand development water schemes from the start. Hi,
Requesting more information as mentioned. I have a fair bit of experience managing large private sailing yachts worldwide and as it turns out, have quite a few physician and medical provider friends that are interested in volunteering. Full references available. USCG 100T documented. Blue water. Mechanical Engineer. Semi-retired. Thank you.

Wonder where the OP has gone? Perhaps only answering by PM, but his disappearance has me wondering about the reality of his request...
