Bahia 46 hatch seals

Hello all

I need to replace the bridgedeck hatch seals on a Fountaine Pajot Bahia 46. Does anyone know the type of seal needed and also a supplier in the UK?

Re: Bahia 46 hatch seals

I assume you mean the escape hatches. Do you know what make they are? I would think that the original deck harware was Amiot/Goit.
I have used this place in the past when I had a FP Maldives, Seals Direct, New Milton Hants. Rubber Door Seals | Rubber Extrusions | Window Rubbers | Boat and Caravan Seals | UK
They are a little expensive and once you find out what the hatches are, I would go to Stuart at Seateach, Emsworth who specialises on hatches and repair kits. Sea Teach | Yacht Chandlery in Emsworth, UK.
Stuart most likely can fix you up at a decent price particularly for Lewmar or at least tell you where to go - nicely! He did me a good deal on repair kits for my Lewmar forepeak hatches.
If you find out more about the hatches could you post it as I have 2 on the Athena that need attention and they may well be the same.
Good luck
Stephen

Re: Bahia 46 hatch seals

I thought I'd update this thread in case others ever need to know...

I originally thought the hatches were made by Goiot but I was reliably informed that Fountaine Pajot fitted Goiot portlights to the Bahia and Lewmar hatches. Back on the boat it clearly says 'Lewmar' on the hatches. Oops! The two large bridgedeck hatches (not escape hatches) on my Bahia are Lewmar Coastline SZ40. The official lewmar replacement seal was the same price as the seal sourced by the local chandlers in Spain, except the seal from the chandlers was long enough to do two hatches. Sorted!

Re: Bahia 46 hatch seals

Could anyone tell me which model lewmar hatches are on the Bahia?

I've tried measuring seems to be a size 40 but can't seem to find an exact match.

I want to replace a few entirely.

Hi,

the Bahia has
6x Low Profile 40 (front cabins & saloon)
6x Low Profile 10 (showers & aft cabins)

I've just replaced all of them...

Cheers
Rod

Interesting. The hatches on our Bahia are the same sizes as yours (40's and 10's) but ours are Lewmar Coastline hatches not Lewmar Low Profile hatches.

There's no way the hatches are interchangeable between the Low Profile and the Ocean Hatch?

I just ordered a batch of the low Profile.

Might have to call back and swap?

Hey, of course they are interchangeable. A hole is a hole

And actually I have never seen a Bahia with Coastline hatches before.
I believe this has been refitted...

Cheers

No, definitely not refitted. All the hatches on our Bahia are original Fountaine Pajot installed Lewmar Coastline hatches.
