I am sailing a fully
refit 1987 50 ft.
Gulfstar sloop. It is presently
on the hard in
Curacao. (I sailed it there with help earlier this year with beginning in Punta Gorda,
Florida, and then through the Leeward and
Windward Islands.) You can see my “triplog” on our website “sailingduet.com”.
I would like to leave
Curacao between the middle and end of September for
Cartagena,
Colombia. I will spend a number of days in Curacao getting the
boat ready after its having been
on the hard and
provisioning, etc.). I then plan to spend 5 days to a week or so in
Cartagena where my wife will meet us for the rest of the trip (it's a terrific city if you've never been there), and then spend a couple of weeks sailing in the San Blas Islands before transiting the
Panama Canal to leave the
boat in
Balboa,
Panama before Thanksgiving, where it will remain for a couple of months.
I will return to
Panama in March 2020 to sail the Las Perlas islands before leaving for
French Polynesia around the end of March.
I am looking for two volunteer crew members (not paid) with
blue water experience to make the trip with me (and my wife after Cartagena) from Curacao through the
Panama Canal. I will provide all
food on the boat and pay all marina
fees as well as a night or two in a
hotel for crew in Curacao if required. If you are interested, I am also looking for crew for the trip from Panama to
French Polynesia next Spring. My boat has a dive
compressor aboard.
If you are interested, please e-mail me at
schnierlaw@aol.com.
Thank you.
