Sailing from Florida to Miami in April - looking I advice

I’m planning to sail from St Petersburg, FL to Boston, MA in April 2019 in my Beneteau 57. The plan is to sail the whole way continuously (maybe with a refueling stop or three depending on wind and weather).

This will be a first for me and I’m very interested in advice from someone with experience in doing the leg of Key West and north. What are the 5 things you would pass on as best advice (Do’s and Don’ts).
