SAS Planet & Navionics

Hi,

I've been using SAS Planet for a while, but just recently it isn't able to download charts from Navionics. I am able to get the basic Navionics chart, but can't get the sonar chart or either overlay charts (ie Navonics or Navonics Sonar on Google Earth/Bing etc.).

Is anyone else having this issue?

Does anyone have a fix?

thanks!

Re: SAS Planet & Navionics

Same here...
I have looked at the Russian forum, looking for the Navionics keyword, but no luck. So no fix...
PS I am not unduly bothered at the loss of Sonar charts, as I do not trust them very much...

Re: SAS Planet & Navionics

This morning everything seems back to normal... I guess it was a problem on the Navionics side..

Re: SAS Planet & Navionics

The problem seems to be back

polux40 - how did you re-install. I've always just unzipped the package.. Also did you use the most recent nightly build ? It doesn't seem to include Navionics overlays any more?

Re: SAS Planet & Navionics

Download the latest sas.plus.maps folders here
https://bitbucket.org/sas_team/sas.plus.maps/wiki/Home
and sas.maps here

https://bitbucket.org/sas_team/sas.maps/wiki/Home
Install or swap in SAS 'map' folder (name is irrelevant)

BTW, the latest build in

http://www.sasgis.org/programs/sasplanet/nightly.php
lacks the sas.plus.maps folder with Navionics

The sonar charts are still unavailable...

sailorF54,

thanks for the install instructions, unfortunately, neither navionics layer is working (still) - I get bits of text that say "Navionics Marine Chart Tile does not exist"

Hi,

I posted a link for the navionics maps, but my message is still waiting for moderation.

You will find navionics cards here

I had given up on Navionics in SAS planet a while ago. For fun, I tried grabbing the latest build of sas planet and the sas plus maps today.

Navionics worked for about 4 minutes but then it stopped working. They must have something that locks things down if you do something wrong. If anyone knows the settings required in SAS planet to make it work please let us know.
Thanks
Gary

Re: SAS Planet & Navionics

@gpeacock

Navionics works very badly right now!

If you have kept the cache folder of your previous instalation you will find your card simply by copying this folder to the same place in your new SAS installation.

if you want we can exchange our cache directories by sending them compressed by email.

I am mainly from europe but if we are several to do so, you will quickly find the cards of your favorite navigation zones.

Re: SAS Planet & Navionics

@sailorF54

During a new installation, it's very important to no delete the cache folder but rather save it before a new installation, this is where all your previously downloaded maps and it's this folder that allows you access to your cards when you are offline.
