Seattle to Patagonia, bagging peaks and skiing streaks

Interested to know who all has done the trip from upper north america to lower south, specifically patagonia. Id love to cruise down and eventually do some skiing and surfing on the way. Just wondering what routes people have taken and if there's any advice on how to attack going through the fjords to get further in towards places like torres del paine or puerto natales.
Any thing related to cruising to patagonia, climbing peaks, or best no ski resort skiing places once you get there would be greatly appreciated.

Getting south along the coast past Ecuador is difficult due to the prevailing conditions--I suggest you study the pilot charts and Jimmy Cornell's "World Cruising Routes" carefully as you plan your attack on south America.
By the way, there's a lot of rugged terrain in Baja that no one I know has bothered exploring, though I met locals who spoke of villages in the sierras accessible only by horse or mule. Seems like there'd be some interesting hiking, at least, if hiking is your thing.

Because he is my favorite travel writer I would recommend reading HW Tilman's books about sailing to and mountain climbing in Patagonia. They are available now for kindle now.

Coastwise down Chile... southerlys strongest in the summer, as are the sea breezes which intensify the southerlys in the afternoon. Details of one trip south along this coast here... Sequitur

South of Montt?..... if very keen you could try for the Amelia Glacier and go the 'full Tilman'.

Lots of good cross country 'in season' on Isla Navarino... plenty of serious climbing to be found on Chilean TdF above anchorages such as those in Seno Pia.

I don't think there is a lot of downhill stuff out there although the owner of the skis in the first pic , Conrad, did climb a BGH on the south side of Isla Gordon.... took him half a day... and then skied back down it.. took about 2 minutes.....

Cerro Bandera, Isla Navarino, 1st pic.... Monte Darwin (seen from about 60 miles to the east 2 days ago ... Isla Gable in the foreground) in the next and seen in the centre top of the TdF icefields in the last.....
