For Sale: 40ft Langedrag steel sloop blue water cruiser 1989 Bahamas and East Coast US 45k $

We have a 40ft 10 tons steel sloop for sale. The boat is Swedish made and has been with us in northern Norway where we lived and sailed in it for three years. The boat is well taken care of by us, rust has always been removed asap and all systems are working 100%. It's ready to sail anywhere and to live in it, also in cold areas, immediately. It has everything and everything works. It's a good, sturdy, safe cruiser, ready for expeditions far North as well as anywhere else.

The insides were made by an active carpenter and are beautiful. The dinghy was made by a boat builder and can be sailed. Please see below for specs and pictures. Only 12 files are allowed to be attached here, but there will be more pictures on successive posts.

Last June we started sailing from Norway and are now in Puerto Rico, making our way up North towards the US east coast via Turks and Caicos and the Bahamas. We have to leave the boat in a marina/ boat yard on the US east coast (possibly Chesapeake bay?) by mid-end June and would give it to a broker then. If anyone has an idea for a broker and place to leave the boat, I would appreciate any hints. If you are interested to see the boat, we can arrange something along the way.

We are imagining a price of 45000 USD. Do you think that's realistic?

Sails: All head sails hank-on. Main sail very good condition only 6 years old. 100% Working jib refurbished by sailmaker 2016, made in 2006. 150% genoa old, but useful. Storm sail unused. 2 Small jibs of unknown age but strong and useful, both as strong wind jibs or staysails on inner stay (cutter, baby-stay).


Accessories: Life raft valid until 2019, 3 amps solar panel, big battery, rigid dinghy with 2hp outboard engine, VHF radio bought 2016, plenty of mooring lines and running rigging, fridge, diesel oven with radiators for heating, echo sounder (Nasa Marine), 2 x 40 kg Bruce anchor and 55 m of 10 mm chain for mooring, wind vane">Aries wind vane.


Safe and classic blue water cruiser ready to go anywhere. Very good for living aboard, we lived in it for three years in cold areas, well insulated and ventilated, good and effective heating system, very light inside. Sailed it from Norway to Caribbean this season, so everything in shape to get going. Engine very well taken care of. Staying rig checked by rig maker in 2016. Sandblasted and sealed with 4 layers epoxy primer below water line in 2016.

Yes, .nz ! Interrupted our cruising days on arrival here 25 years ago, family's grown and gone, time to get back afloat. Chesapeake would be a suitable place to resume!
