Indonesian teenager rescued after drifting 7 weeks at sea

[Indonesian teenager rescued after drifting 7 weeks at sea] Indonesian teenager rescued after drifting 7 weeks at sea

He was employed since age 16 in the one of the world's loneliest jobs: lamp lighter on a rompong — a wooden fishing raft with a hut on top — moored about 125 kilometers (78 miles) off the coast of North Sulawesi
Glad this turned out with a happy ending. I never knew there was a job out there, the description of which would include live on a raft at sea 78 miles from land. I would have at least tried that when I was young.

Indonesian teenager rescued after drifting 7 weeks at sea

Question I have is what did he do for water?
An article I read said he filtered seawater through his clothes, if so he was near death, cause he wasn’t doing that for long.

I'm wondering if he didn't get the water the same way as he does the rest of the time out to sea in that fish trap?
