Attaching and Securing Cushions In The Cockpit?

I recently had lovely cushions made up for my cockpit on my cat. They make an immense difference in comfort. What methods are best suited for securing the base and back rest such that they can be contained in all weather and winds? I am thinking of using the YKK male and female clips? Are there any preferred / alternate methods?

For the long seat cushions we put two snaps on the coamong using thtUBE VHB tape ones. Then have a wide webbing strap that snaps into the coaming snap and wraps around the cushion and connects to itself with Velcro. Works well and no extra holes in the boat.
