I have added some notes about making new standalone plugins (with Linux and Windows) to the wiki:

The workflows are based on using an existing plugin and modifying it for new uses, creating a totally new plugin. The GitHub source for the new plugin is here.

Remove the .pdf file extensions.

Only a fairly basic plugin that does not draw on the OpenCPN window. To be continued!

Just the tools I find useful, often graphical. If you have another workflow to achieve the same result please add it to the wiki.
