Nmea 2k Wifi gateways?

It has started to pop up a lot of different NMEA wifi wateways the last two years.
If not bother to much about 0183....is there any difference if you just want to have the data to your tablet?

I just found a cheap one for 85 USD...On ebay

What app do you prefer to show this data on? I have seen some using a browser...but does the gateway need to be of a certain brand then?

My Yacht Devices YDWG-02 works very well with OpenCPN. GPS data from serial port are automagically understood by the Raymarine SeaTalkNG network and wind data are correctly displayed by the OpenCPN dashboard. You only need to configure OpenCPN to send/receive data via UDP/TCP as written on the user manual.

User support at Yacht Devices helped me to create the correct NMEA2k sentences to send battery data via UDP and have them displayed on my i70 instrument (and on the browser as well).

Also see YakBitz, very tiny, modest price.

Works great. Ive had one aboard for several years now. Super simple set up. Reliable.

It can be configured to use your existing WiFi network, so any device on the network can get the data.
