remove paint from stainless steel tube

I have a back stay stainless steel tube mount for radar that is painted.

The paint is peeling off.

Would anyone know the best way to remove the paint ?

Thanks in advance,

You could try a mild paint remover (like the soy-based one) to get it off and then polish it to get it back to a shiny, smooth finish. I would then pacify the SS. Just don't use a steel wheel to get the paint off as it will leave little particles of steel empregnated in the stainless, leading to rust.

If you search on Youtube, you will see folk polishing stainless steel tube with a cleaver widget which has a belt of very fine "sand paper" driven round in a loop by a drill sized motor. I haven't seen one in the UK, but must be available in the US. Its the sort of thing you buy, use and then flog on for someone else.
