Beneteau Inlet Caps - 8 Point Socket

My Beneteau has a strange socket for the inlets (water). They take an 8 point male socket to unscrew the inlet cap.

Anyone seen these ?
I need a new one and can't find anything to match

I thought a winch handle was meant to fit it, but I just tried and it doesnt.
Isnt there a universal cap device at chandlers?

I did buy a universal tool - however I suspect this particular beneteau fitting is not of this universe!
I've checked 2 chandleries, online, and even hardware stores - everyone just shrugs!

Help!
Mark - do you have the same fitting? My opening tool is plastic and just got very rounded.....

All my water related caps use a winch handle, but the fuel uses a special one.

Borrow a few winch handles to try

The one on the right. The one on the left is the diesel fuel cap.

I took the diesel cap off and it fits on the water pipe, interesting. Dorsnt help you.

My one is getting a bit soft in the handle and I would be interested in getting a metal replacement.

Found it!! GOI/105396

It sounds like you have the Amiot "High Security" deck fill caps.

Information on the cap and replacements parts/keys is avaiable at Amiot Deck Fills. Scroll down to the middle of the page.
.

FWIW...

We lost our old wrenches for water over the side, and went through this same thing. We looked all over, but none of the places we looked had one and none of the "universal" fittings worked. Neither did the one svHyLyte shows. In the end we ordered two from the Beneteau parts website. The one they sent had both water and diesel on a single wrench. Here's the website:

BENETEAU USA - MARION

My wrench actually has the part number on it- 458867. It is nice that these are metal instead of the plastic ones that came with the boat, and also nice both fittings are on one wrench!

Very nice, beats the plastic one that came with my 393. The water one was plastic and the fuel was metal. This 2 in 1 one is great.

Jamie, welcome to CF

I do hope they have found a solution to their problem, after all it was post made a decade ago.

Yep! Thanks Pete, this forum comes up when you search for the product using Google so my hope was to help anyone else who might **currently** be searching this way.

Do you have the metal dual pattern one or the plastic singles?
