SD20 Sail Drive

I have 2 Yanmar SD20 sail drives Serial # 7505 & 7457
They were purchased July 25 1995 for a custom boat build. The boat was launched Feb 97 Port Sail drive has 1966 hours and Starboard 1894.5

Engines with sail drives were pulled and replaced Oct 2014. We were encouraged to purchase a "package deal" even though the sail drives were good and we thought we would use them with the new engines. We were going to keep one drive for a spare in case something happened to one of the new ones.

I am, however interested in selling both drives as I also want to sell the boat. (in another ad and listed under boats since the Boat Floats!

A new sail drive sells for $6,000. I honestly don't have a clue what is a reasonable price to ask. So I will ask for "best offer." If the offers are too silly I'll just take them to the dump. Each one weighs about 66 lbs.

Re: SD20 Sail Drive

I couldn't be sure if they are out of production. However, there are thousands out there. We bought brand new SD 20's along with new engines barely 2 years ago. That's why we have 2 used SD 20's in excellent shape.

We're going to sell the boat and will include them as spares for whoever purchases the boat since no one seems to want to buy them or give us a fair price.

Thanks for your interest.

Two things, do you have pics of these units? and some idea what you want. There are bits and pieces that come up to about 1800 to 2500 for a complete unit. We have a T26 Columbia and the unit is missing. Thanks

Re: SD20 Sail Drive

Hi,

We have 2 complete sail drives. We bought new engines. We were going to use the sail drives as they were in excellent condition. They wanted to sell us engines with drives as a package deal. Told us if we ever needed a new sail drive down the road, it would cost $6000 for one. So we hesitantly followed their advice.

They were working drives, taken off our boat and put into boxes. I do not have any pictures. They have been maintained just as the boat. There is nothing wrong with them. They have bottom paint and barnicles. We want to have $1000 each Cash. We will sell one or two.

Re: SD20 Sail Drive

Can you tell me if you still have SD 20 saildrive
as well as parts like boot or do I need to buy that from Yanmar dealer? I have a 2012 sailboat which it could work on with my yanmar 2Ym 15.
