Any problems w/ Colombian Crew passport?

Has anyone had problems moving around the Caribbean with a crew member who carry's a Colombian passport?

I ask because my experience is Colombian's cannot go anywhere in the world without a visa and if we are island hopping through the Caribbean will we be denied entry or no enter at all without the appropriate country visa's in his passport?

Or is no visa required because it falls under the Captains responsibility to depart with the crew member or be held accountable.

The person in question is my brother-in-law, not a stranger. I don't want to invite him along only to crush his bubble later due to visa issues.

I remember one incident reported on CF where the Columbian wife was arrested in Isla Mujeres and held for 2 weeks.

Same visa requirements regardless of how you arrive in a country.

Colombian citizens can travel to many parts of the world and all of South America without a visa, or a visa on arrival. In the Carib, some islands require a visa, most do not.

The kept my Colombian girl friend in immigration detention for 2 weeks without change of clothes or shower. She was held in offices at the airport. She had no visa but we put in there because we were in danger at sea. After she was released they gave her 15 days to leave and be a tourist.

Just a final note on this thread.

Grenada turned out to be the "vacation killer" for my brother-in-law. The Visa application is a two month process which has to be made through their Washington DC consulate.
