Sailing and rowing dinghy

Anyone have knowledge or advice on Gig Harbor dinghys? I know folks love Fatty Knees and Trinka dinks. I am wondering how the Gig Harbors compare to those?

The Gig Harbor Boat Works dinghy boats look very nice.

The layout is similar to my Edey & Duff Columbia dinghy, that is also rowing or sailing, 11-1/2' long.

Mine is great for rowing and fun for sailing.

For sure get the rowing mirror and the storage cover. When I designed my cover I made the bows much larger to shed the torrential rain w/o collapsing, so maybe they can make the custom built cover taller.

The mast on mine is two piece, so the mast, boom and sail fit into a bag and stow nicely in the hull.

You might look at the PT11/PT Spear from www.PTwatercraft.com in Port Townsend. Since it's in the same neighborhood.
Russell's embarrased, & impressed quite a lot of folks with the way that thing sails & handles. Me especially.

We have a Gig Harbor Boat Works Point Defiance 12, the kevlar version. It rows and sails just as nicely as you'd expect. The long spoon blade oars are terrific.

No experience with Fatty Knees. The Trinka is similar but a bit heavier. Still nice boats though. We found a deal on our Pt Defiance 12. Otherwise we might have a Trinka.
