Ionian itinerary

We're chartering with another couple in the southern Ionian out of Levkas for a week in early September. Any suggested itineraries, or must-see spots? Also, Shipwreck Beach on NW side of Zakinthos looks like a fun midday stop - why is it not mentioned in cruising guides?

The western sides of the islands are less protected from the weather and sea conditions so fewer people venture there in their boats.

We've had two summers cruising in the Ionian. There are plenty of small harbours with tavernas to visit to easily fill a week without going as far south as Zakynthos. Check out the smaller islands like Meganissi, Kastos, Kalamos and Ithaca.
