Macgregor (Venture) 21' Sails? (First Time Sailboat Owner)

I recently traded for a 1970 Macgregor 21 (Believe it was called a Venture in that model year). Unfortunately, when I arrived to make the trade, the owner had lost the sails. Given the drive, and the deal, I still traded, but now I need to find sails and I'm trying to do it on the cheap if possible? I would love to get ahold of an old set from someone who upgraded sails (just so I can get out on the water and practice sailing) but I don't know how specific I need to be in finding the right size sails, and if I do need to be specific, what the specs I need are?

Best place to start would be the Macgregorsailors.com forum probably won’t find much here. Chances are you’ll have to bite the billet and buy a new set but the good news is that they come relatively cheap all things considered. Bluewater yachts in Washington is another place to start looking. Good luck.

National sail supply if you want new ones. If not get the dimensions and shop the used outlets by size. Keep the bottom and keel smooth, those things can get on a plane offwind.

where are you located? I have just parted three Mcgregor 21 ventures to the landfill. I have two bow pulpits, one set of sails (main/jib), 2 booms, possible mast, one foil headstay , stern pulpit, engine bracket, port holes, and a rudder. think couple other parts-
upper Chesapeake area.

And I found a link to the sail dimensions I need. Sailrite - Fabric, Canvas, and Sewing Machines Since 1969. If anyone has sails close to the advised dimensions I'm interested!
