Under cockpit area organisation.

Thank you for letting me register at your forum.
I am new owner of S2 7.3 sailboat. So it is 24 feet monohull sailboat without engine inside.
It has big space in the hull under cockpit with two entrance there from the cabin on starboard and port and one from the cockpit on port side. I guess that is pretty common configuration for many small sail boat. I would like to keep some staff (spare sails, extra fenders, linebackers and etc ) in that space. But how you guys keep organized that space? If I just drop that staff there - everything will slide toward blidge and become mess. Any tips how to use that space and keep organized?

Welcome aboard CF.

One way to approach it would be to bond a couple of long pieces of 1x1 on each side of the center line, about 2 ft. off it. Then use bungees to go athwartships, to secure the load. You can use hog rings to make eyes in the bungee stock, and cup hooks to hook them onto. Also, line hangers are sold that you can glue on, to keep lines tidy. I'd be inclined to hang them somewhere easy to hand.
