34'+ liveaboard sailboat (cats included) good for Bahamas

Our budget is under 75k. We'd prefer ones that are ready to liveaboard but minor repairs are okay. Needs to have 6'4" headroom (for cats, lower headroom okay in salon).
We'll mostly be at a marina but we'll occasionally sail from the east coast of Florida to the Baahamas, so lower draw is appealing. More living space preferable to faster sailing (two humans and two dogs require a lot of space).

Does the location of the catamaran need to be Florida for you?

It would preferably be somewhere near Florida (east coast US, Gulf of Mexico). We're currently in Maryland and moving to FL in the next month.

Re: 34'+ liveaboard sailboat (cats included) good for Bahamas

Gemini
Catalac
Endeavor

are common cats that fit the need and the price range.

All are under 3' draft so perfect for Florida and Bahamas.

I'm 6'2" and we had a Gemini for 10yrs and recently switched to European cruising and picked up a Catalac 10m. No problem with headroom in either.

Endeavor 30 fits the price range. the 34/36 probably is over the price range but really great for liveaboard.

All are excellent options for the type of cruising you describe.

I have a 1979 CAL39MKII monohull in Miami for $21,000. Good live aboiard vessel; you cna either pay $70 a month for somebody to clean the bottom or pay $3,000 to have the bottom done with Petit Trinidad SR. DInner Key marina takes liveaboards at $341 a month and it has the best and newest facilities in South Florida, a big launch taxi every two hours from 8 to 4, and last one at 5 PM.
You can save yourself money with this boat. It is listed here and in craiglist of miami. Is worth to take a look as i am sure you will be pleasently surprised

Take care

I have a nice 1985 Beneteau First 38 currently located in the Rio Dulce. I have had her for 13 years and have configured her to single hand from the cockpit.
I do have photos on this site of upgrades over the years.
I have relocated to the PNW and don't want to relocated her here
Have a look and let me know if your thoughts.

Cheers

Re: 34'+ liveaboard sailboat (cats included) good for Bahamas

The above if the link to a recent video on my 1979 CAL39.

This is a good solid boat with minimum sweat equity needed to go cruising. It is not a project boat. The engine runs perfectly, but I have no serious buyers in Miami. Incredibly I have an $18,000 offer to buy the boat for parts. He is ineterested in my rigging mast and boom, the engine and transmission, and the winches. Everything else he will sell in parts.

I just cannot believe the destiny of this boat is so grim. Is a beautiful boat that is fast, points high, and is roomy for tall people.

A real shame
