Day Charter Options in Sydney?

Greetings,
My wife and I are headed to Sydney in January to visit our son and daughter-in-law who are there on a two year assignment. We thought it would be great to get out on the water and sail.

There seem to be several charter options, but it's unclear (1) which companies are the better choice and (2) whether a charter can be done without a formal certification. I am a lifelong sailor with a decent number of miles under my keel, but I have never taken a course so have no paper to prove the above.

Any suggestions from those down under or others who have done this?
Many thanks in advance.
David

Re: Day Charter Options in Sydney?

Try Eastsail in Rushcutters Bay.

It's located inbetween the CYCA and RANSA. CYCA does social Wednesday afternoon racing, and RANSA does social Friday afternoon racing. Perhaps you can tag on to a boat going for a social race.

I'm trying to get all four of us on the water so racing probably won't work. Many thanks, though.
