Interviewing for crew N. California to Mexico - ready now

This is a long shot but worth a try.
Single handed sailor with dog, on 41 foot ketch. Departing Northern California +/-10 days headed to Mexico. Not in Baha Haha. Would like to sail California coast with few stops. Interviewing for crew to Mexico and possibly beyond.

Compatibility is more important than experience, but like to know crew is not crippled by sea sickness and can keep head together in difficulties. No smoking, drugs, or alcoholics. Not interested in tough guy, sex fantasy, or emotional baggage, just a good sailing trip. Also not a race boat. If this is of interest, please reply with some personal information and a direct way to contact so we can get to know each other a little. I will respond with same and boat information.
Thanks and best wishes,

Re: Interviewing for crew N. California to Mexico - ready now

Greg,
I set out tomorrow single handing. Have one possible crew will meet in a few days down the coast a bit. If you are interested, please let me know a bit about who you are, your experience, and expectations. You can post here or reply to the contact link on my web page slvanronk.com

As I mentioned in the OP, not interested in anyone who will not take the time to get to know each other a bit first. I will catch up to your reply when back in the next port with internet.
thanks
Steve

Re: Interviewing for crew N. California to Mexico - ready now

Hello-

I am interested in crewing on your upcoming voyage. I am a female in my late twenties. I have sailed for a year and a half on my own boat, a 66' Islander Wayfarer in the Bay Area and up and down the CA coast. I am still looking to learn and gain experience. I also speak a little bit of Spanish and understand it perfectly.

Let me know if I seem like a potentially good fit, and I'll be glad to provide you with more information.

Re: Interviewing for crew N. California to Mexico - ready now

Steve. (Vino the Dog),

I may be available to assist you as Experienced Crew from Half Moon Bay (SF Area) all the way to Cabo San Lucas or beyond. I am an experienced Pacific Ocean sailor, and am geared to be available short notice (as little as 24 hours) when needed.

I will send you a Private Message with more info and extensive Sailing Credentials, including many testimonials. In the meantime, I have some brief information on my CF Profile "About Me" page here: Cruisers & Sailing Forums - View Profile: Steady Hand

Look for a PM. I am also available to SKYPE or phone call and suggest that we talk to discuss your needs/plans and to answer any quesitions. I will include my phone number and email in my PM to you.

If I don't hear back from you, I will assume you have found crew and I wish you a safe and happy voyage.

Re: Interviewing for crew N. California to Mexico - ready now

Left Moss Landing 10:00 Sunday. Made San Pedro 10:00 Tuesday evening. 60 hours non-stop single &a dog handing.
Will be here 3 days or so. Need to get Mexico paperwork, provisions, and a little rest. At this point, a little hard to connect unless we happen to be in the same port. Still looking for crew, but not taking anyone I don't meet in person and like. Don't need to and won't risk incompatibility at sea.

Anyone interested, you have to make it happen. I give up on looking for crew on the internet.

Re: Interviewing for crew N. California to Mexico - ready now

Carl,

I read the bio you sent and you look like the kind of guy I would consider. Problem is that I am already on my way and don't want to promise a berth to anyone I have not met in person. Heading for Ensenada tomorrow and that's a long way for you to come on the possibility we may get along.

I would love to put on crew down the Baha into mainland Mexico, but pretty much have to confine possibilities to those I can meet on the way.

Anyone around Ensenda who wants to meet, will be there in a day or two, probably stay for a few up to a week.

thanks

Thank you for considering. I may find a boat I would like to purchase in that area, hope to meet up with you then.
