New 12% VAT in the Bahamas

The Bahamian government is raising the VAT to 12%.

It starts July 1, 2018. I feel for Bahamians, it's a big increase. VAT is the most regressive of taxes, hurting people at the lower end of the income spectrum most. I will just take more stuff with me, and buy less in the Bahamas.

That's all right, buy less. They won't even raise the entry fee, they'll just drop the time limit to one entry per fee paid.
