Lowrance Hook 7, Garmin and Bahamas

Good morning

Question about Lowrance. Been on the phone with them and email and getting nowhere

When I bought the Lowrance the salesman told me that coastal waters of Florida and Bahamas were included and showed me that in the store

On the water, when I zoom in beyond 2 mile resolution all the detail disappears in the Bahamas. ( but not in the coastal and inland us waters) Lowrance customer service now tells me that is how it is and I have to go get a Navioincs Platinum card ($200.00) in order to upgrade the chart data.

I have been told that Garmin has this already loaded in their package, but the web is unclear on this and I have just gotten two different answers from their chat customer service.

Does anybody have first hand experience with Garmin and the Bahamas? Is there a "salt water map package" that comes pre loaded and includes the coastal us waters and the Bahamas?

Alternatively, is there a way to get the Bahamas on to a Lowrance apart from Navioics 200 dollar coastal chip....95% of which I already have.....I just want the Bahamas

Thanks for any thoughts

Re: Lowrance Hook 7, Garmin and Bahamas

My Garmin 741xs came with US waters AND the Bahamas installed. I bought it as it was being phased out for the 742 model. The detail was spot on for our recent trip - Bimini to Georgetown Exumas and then back to the states.
