Blue Ocean Sails and You

Here's one of the ways we're using Sea Breeze, our '87 I43 to actively support marine science education and research. We're beginning the process to formally organize Blue Ocean Sails as a 501c3 and are casting about for others interested in participating. Check out the video, see what we're doing, get involved.

Currently working to build a far reaching network of skippers/owners interested in hosting marine science students, educators, citizen and research scientists onboard. Cheers!

I'd be interested in a form of partnership or co-endorsement. Please take a look at American Seafarers – American Seafarers Summer Vacation and see if you think we might have a compatible vision.

thanks,
Scot

Scot, your program looks great; there surely must be some value in our organizations affiliating.

Curiosity from one who's not familiar with what looks like US tax jargon, what's a 501c3?

Re: Blue Ocean Sails and You

501c3 is the IRS tax code governing non profit organizations.

"The most common type of US tax-exempt nonprofit organization falls under category 501(c)(3), whereby a nonprofit organization is exempt from federal income tax if its activities have the following purposes: charitable, religious, educational, scientific, literary, testing for public safety, fostering amateur sports ..." - Wikipedia

Thanks. I guessed something like that but was too lazy to look it up.
