Good point, our last boat was a 1971 Speed boat with an overpowered engine, we eventually cracked the hull. The main reason I am constantly reading here is to learn, not just what to buy but how to use it.

Re: Problems/weaknesses Hunter 45

I have had my 2003 under 44 DS for 12 months and I love it. It survived a 2 year trip from Canada right across the Pacific to Australia. I have sailed down the east coast of Australia and found it goes great. The in mast furler took a little while to learn the best way to take it out and put it back but now it works great.

Re: Problems/weaknesses Hunter 45

And what was that "Best way to get the main in and out", please? We just bought a 2006 Hunter 44' aft cockpit. On the sea trial the main bunched up in the mast and would not budge. We settled on $ to buy a new main...

Just a suggestion, but you will get a lot better overall response if you start a new thread question about problems with in mast furling. I know there are already old ones if you do a thread search. (just trying to help you find your answer)

Re: Problems/weaknesses Hunter 45

I find if I use the out furling line to push the sail out and keep tightening with the out haul line the sail goes out without any problem. If I try and just pull out with the outhaul line it pulls out several folds of sail and jams.
