Cal 39 Interior pulll out portside bed

any ideas on how the pull out bed system works? It is a pull out slatted bed with no supports to hold it up.

Pics & engineering drawings are ususally helpful. Plus I'm curious to see it. Which bunk, as I didn't know that a Cal 39 had a pullman.

Re: Cal 39 Interior pulll out portside bed

If it is like my 1968 cal 36, there is about 1 foot of frame that remains behind in the cabinet structure, creating a cantilevered bed.

Post some pictures and I'll tell you if it is different, I can't take pictures of mine right at the moment.

Mine has a tendency to be "sticky."

It can be fully removed if needed to access underneath it. First you pull it fully out. Then you have to tilt the bed upwards and remove one corner. This allows you to then pull out the other corner, freeing the rather awkward to move bed frame. It's easier with two people.
