Chartering a cat Abacos start of hurricane season

Looking to charter a catamaran in the Abacos August 20-27. I understand that August 15 is like flipping a light switch and everything is dead on account of hurricane season.

Thoughts on chartering this time of year? Also, how can I get the best deal possible. I see that Moorings and Sunsail both have bases in Marsh Harbour. Will either of these companies negotiate...I have heard that they are both owned by the same company.

Would it help if we did not make a reservation and walked in on the 20th or any day the week prior? (we will be just south of Marsh Harbour for the week prior)
