Clyde Challenger is one of eight first generation ex Clipper Ventures round the world ocean racing yachts. Designed by David Pedrick and built in Essex in the UK she has completed four, 40,000 mile circumnavigations of the globe. Achieving third place in her best finish she retired with the rest of the Clipper 60 fleet in 2006. Her sponsor during this period was the City of Glasgow for whom she proudly flew the "Glasgow: Scotland with Style" branding; a flag we still fly to this day. In 2007 she started a new life as "Clyde Challenger" operating as a sail training vessel on the stunning cruising waters of the Clyde Estuary and Scotland's west coast. With a strong team of volunteers and sea staff she served mainly youth groups and council organisations and was a regular sight on the Clyde.
