Boat Storage At US East Coast (Georgia, South/North Carolina)

Hi,
we are currently slowly cruising north in our sailboat (34') from Florida to the Chesapeake. Soon we need to put her on the dry until May 2020. Does anyone know a good and affordable haul out facility with winter storage and preferable DIY (minor) work options along the coast of Georgia, South/North Carolina?
Any suggestions are highly appreciated.

Dunno about service capabilities or lift, but you might check out Osprey Marina in Myrlte Beach (actually Socastee).

Look at flagharbor.com on Maryland's western shore. The rate is $5.00/ft, travel lift, near Solomons Island.

I keep mine, and do all my work at Bridgeton Boatworks on the Bridgeton side of the Neuse River across from New Bern NC. I HIGHLY recommend them

Maybe for storage, but I’d avoid having them even look at your boat for service. We used them last fall for a haul out and pulling the mast so I could mount a radome, and they snapped a spreader putting it back in. Took them two months to fix it and it clearly wasn’t a priority. Made much of the fact they weren’t charging us for storage while they unf’d their mistake. The manager admitted they don’t do much with sailboats (but the error was in attention to the job). They also charge specialty rated for anyone working on the haul, so if they grab a mechanic to help with the hauling for ten minutes of work, you end up paying an hour of mechanic time. Try SailCraft in Oriental, or Deatons. They’re right across from each other. Downside is Whittaker Creek needs dredging - we draw 6’ and bumped.

Brunswick Landing Marina in Brunswick Ga. I have a boat stored there.
Reasonable cost. Very hurricane safe. Marina and haul-out facility have different phone #'s
Marina is absolutely nice place to be if you want to stay in the water. Nice club house, free laundry, free beer 24/7. Elect. included. Friendly, helpful staff.

McCotters Marina and Boatyard (used to be Capt Sam's Boatyard) near Washington NC on the Pamlico River. I had my boat there for 2 years 2015-2017 while I did a compete refurb. Its a DIY. I would not have them do any work except maybe a bottom job. It is going to be about the least expensive place you can find. I have a 34 ft as well and it was about $200 a month.

I second using Sailcraft at Oriental. Nice people and fantastic town. Very friendly to cruisers.

Just a bit North, Cape Charles Yachting Center had a deal where you pay for pull out, winterizing, and power wash and get free boat storage from I believe September thru April or May for first timers.

The cost for my 27' Bristol was $350 or so but I never did go over

we liked Bennett Brothers in Wilmington.
Recommend you investigate the states' tax policies. It would be a shame to choose a state that taxes your boat while it is stored there.
