Since 2015 I have been preparing this Albin Vega (Hull # 169) to circumnavigate. I prefer not to think about the amount of time and money I've invested into it. My plan was to leave this month...until February when I was offered a borderline unbelievable deal that, upon further inspection, just made sense in every way. I took it, and regrettably this means the Albin Vega must be sold.

Whether your goal is Catalina or India, this boat will get you there.

Some of the notable upgrades and modifications:

• Fleming wind vane
• Deck paint new 2017, bottom paint new late 2015 and in great shape
• Mast step reinforced
• 3 total isolated water tanks w/ 37 gallon total capacity
• Katadyn 35 desalinator (manual)
• 2 total fuel tanks w/ 29 gallon total capacity. Center mounted Moeller tank is brand new. Both have dedicated automatic FireBoy flame-out suppression systems
• Aluminum propane bottle mounted in dedicated locker, remote solenoid shutoff
• Lewmar opening portlights (5 total), Lewmar 12x12 opening hatch, 4" forward porthole added
• Large sail cache including lightly used Rolly-Tasker main, new Lee drifter, 2 jibs, 1 genoa, spinnaker, storm jib and staysail
• Inboard replaced with Tohatsu 9.8 HP, 4 Stroke XL shaft outboard (remote throttle/shift/start/tilt/steer + alternator)
• 100 watts of solar, 250 watt Rutland wind generator, available capacity for much more solar. Solar panels + controller installed new in 2016.
• Rigging is all in great shape, replaced with dyform cable, rebuildable fittings, double backstay
• Full mast prep including new masthead sheaves, rivets in the tracks, equipment up top
• Hard dodger, bimini added in 2016 (flap from bimini attaches to dodger for nearly complete cockpit shade)
• Updated ground tackle (new Mantus 25, Fortress FX-11, plenty of chain + 9/16" line)
• 30 Amp AC input, runs through breaker and distributed throughout cabin outlets, Minn Kota battery charger and stove (AC + propane burners)
• Electrical recently replaced (Ancor wire) + 2 x Trojan T-105's (new late 2015) + BlueSea panels throughout
• Epic sound system (bluetooth + Aux ready)
• Ratelco solid fuel heater
• 2 x Android tablets pre-loaded with OpenCPN + CM93 charts. Swivel + acrylic companionway board allows tablet to be used while staying protected in heavy weather
• Standard Horizon GX2200 AIS + VHF
• Harken traveler, Barient self-tailing winches, BoomKicker rigid boom vang, jiffy reefing on the mainsail
• Ritchie Compass, Standard Horizon depth sounder
• LED lighting throughout (interior, exterior + running lights)

Also included in the sale is an Avon Redcrest hypalon dinghy (CA titled) which fits well rolled up/lashed to the front of the mast.

Photo from today of the wind generator/solar panels and bimini fully rolled out. The stock traveler arrangement doesn't allow for a bimini to be practically installed, which is one unforeseen advantage of the upgraded/relocated Harken setup.

I'm in the same boat [literally]. Part of me is excited to have a few more feet LOA, but another part of me is wondering if it's really worth the added hassle and expense.

Just took a deposit for the Vega, so as of now she's considered sold. I look forward to seeing what endeavors the new owners get into with her, they have some very exciting plans.
